Point your phone at the shelves, the fridge or the freezer. ShelfDinner reads what you
already own, then writes recipe cards for meals you can cook tonight, with the few bits you still
need written at the bottom. Print the card, stick it on the fridge, and stop staring into the cupboard.
1Snap it
Pantry, fridge or freezer, one at a time. A slow video walk-through works too.
2Ask for ideas
Tick what matters tonight: gluten-free, one pot, under 30 minutes, kid-friendly.
3Print the card
A card for the fridge door, plus a shopping list for whatever is missing.
Cards made by the app
These were written from a real list of shelves. Print one to see exactly what you get.
It also asks the questions a photo cannot answer
A camera cannot see into the back of the freezer or behind the tinned beans, so ShelfDinner asks: is there
chicken in the freezer? Stock? Chilli powder? Say yes and the ideas get better straight away. And the salt,
sugar, flours and spices you always keep go on a staples list: photograph your spice rack once, and the app
never marks them missing or puts them on the shopping list again.
Photograph one shelf and see the cards it writes for you. Nothing is kept
unless you make an account, and the cards move over when you do.

What do you have?
Take photos or a short video of one space at a time: pantry, refrigerator, freezer or spice rack.
Staples are the basics you always keep - salt, sugar, the flours, spices. The app assumes you have them, so they never show as missing and never go on the shopping list.

Quick questions
Some things hide in the back of a cupboard. Tap yes and it joins your pantry; no and we stop asking.
Staples we always assume we have
Basics like salt, sugar, self-rising flour and spices. Recipes never mark them missing and the shopping list never asks you to buy them. Switch off anything you actually run out of.
Type a list instead of photographing
Meal ideas
Tick the things that matter tonight. Ideas are built from what your photos found.
Add a recipe of your own (grandma’s chilli)
It is matched against your inventory like any other card, so it shows what you still need to buy.
Ask for a recipe Members
Name any dish — even “gluten free pumpkin bread” — and it is written up as a card, matched to your kitchen and saved for you.
Asking for a specific dish is the membership perk. Ask Dan to turn a membership on for your account and this unlocks.
Things to buy
The few items that turn most of your ideas into a finished dinner.

Photo reading needs a model that sees images.
The test sends a red square, so a model that cannot see is caught before your family notices.
